Water Safety

Advocacy for water safety in New Orleans began in earnest when a group of swimmers sought help to improve poor conditions at one of the City's public swimming pools. Understanding building systems proved to be a valuable tool in helping the community negotiate for the proper care and stewardship of the City's widely-used aquatic facilities. That success led to a coalition of swimmers who continue to lobby for the proper maintenance of the facilities, accessible parking and equitable programming.
